Jerry, as he is known at home, is a superstar roan pony. He stands at 12.3hh & is registered Part Welsh, Riding Pony, Arabian Riding Pony & SHC.
He has been in our family for 3 yars when our daughter, Sophie, was lucky enough to get him for her 8th birthday. She adores him!
We love this pony's consistency and the fact that it doesn't mater if he is in the show ring, on a cross country course or sporting, he always gives 100% and tries his little heart out. He can even do a 19 second barrel run!
Over the past 3 years Jerry & Sophie have been unbeaten at Pony Club, winning a Champion ribbon at every Inter Club culminating in him being Zone Champion of Champions in 2012.
Interschools, dressage and showjumping follow in a similar vein with him always coming home with a broad ribbon.
Lately they have taken seriously to the show ring in hunter, breed and rider classes with the aim of getting qualified for Sydney Royal. One of their proudest moments was qualifying for Sophie's rider class at HOTY 2012 and geting to compete at the 2012 Grand Nationals.
Congraulations must go to Powys Stud for breeding such an outstanding performance pony. We are very blessed to have such a pony in our lives.
We have had a few comments along he way about his 'unusual colour' and asked why we don't dye him. Our reply is 'he is what he is and his colour is what makes him extraordinary' - the Hunter judges just love him and so do we! Go the Roan Pony!
